French filmmaker Olivier Assayas talks about his new film, Something in the Air in this SundanceNOW original interview. Assayas talks about why he wanted to explore the politics, philosophy and ethos of French youth culture in the 1970s via this highly autobiographical film. Often depicted as foolish or sex-crazed, Assayas shows teenagers at their most impassioned, sympathetic and unvarnished.
Filmed at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival.
