Legendary filmmaker Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire) sat down with SundanceNOW at the Toronto Film Festival and recounted how seeing the 2007 concert film U2 3D finally persuaded him to make his long-gestating project about dance choreographer Pina Bausch as a 3D spectacle. “This medium,” he says in the accompanying video, “is made for dance.” After debuting at Cannes and screening at last month’s TIFF, Pina shows this week at the New York Film Festival before beginning a national theatrical run later this year.
